Jane Taylor counsels clients exclusively in family law matters. She is licensed in California and Colorado, where she began her practice. Jane’s practice focuses on valuation and division of high net worth estates. She is highly experienced in complex cases involving professional practices, family trusts, venture capital, private equity, equity compensation including stock options and RSUs, retirement assets and real estate.
Jane also advocates for clients in contentious parenting disputes. She has extensive experience crafting parenting plans designed to meet the individual needs of each family. Her cases have involved international issues in both financial and parenting matters, including identification and valuation of foreign assets, handling international parental kidnapping matters and preparing comprehensive parenting plans for clients living abroad.
Jane counsels clients through all aspects of the marital dissolution process, including initial consultations, negotiated settlements, mediation and litigation. She is highly skilled in all aspects of complex discovery disputes in litigation cases. Jane is dedicated to closely working with clients and their team of advisors to identify client goals, develop strategy and ensure the client is informed as to each stage of the process. She has experience structuring comprehensive settlement agreements regarding the complex financial aspects of cases, as well as litigating such matters. Jane regularly works with experts specializing in finance, tax, estate matters, corporate law and international law to design and implement the best strategy tailored to the needs of each case.
Jane is committed to giving back to her community. She volunteers as a Settlement Officer in Santa Clara County and is an active member of the International Network of Boutique and Independent Law Firms.
During law school Jane actively participated in the Family Law Clinic where she represented clients in a range of family law matters. She worked at the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia where she worked to evaluate policies and procedures utilized by the Tribunal. While abroad, she received certification from the International Institute of Human Rights in Strasbourg, France.
When not working, Jane enjoys skiing, traveling and practicing yoga.
